While I am continuing on my mission to lose my extra weight, I am going to start trying to help others fight the battle of the bulge as well. Join me on Facebook, I have created a group called Fight to End Obesity that is going to be aimed at a community that can come together and help each other lose extra pounds. I feel that a community effort will be the most successful way to help more people succeed. We can all share the ups and downs that come with this battle and it will help us to know that we are not alone in our fight. I am down 60 lbs and I have 50 to go in order to meet my goal. Come and fight the fight with me!

I must say that this past week has led me to be inspired all over again with my weight loss. There have been many pitfalls but I have managed to stay on track and keep the scale moving in the right direction. I have submitted my video for Project 10, I have documented a weight loss of 10 pounds; this enters me into the weekly prize pool for $1000 from Visalus. I am excited to get my I Lost It t-shirt; I will wear it proudly. To date I have lost just about 50 pounds! I am going to keep going and finally get down to my goal weight. I really want to start helping others succeed on their weight loss journey. It is not an easy road to go down alone. I am thinking about starting a Facebook group for those who want to lose weight so that we can all come together as a team. If you would be interested in joining a group that could help you lose weight let me know; also, if you have any friends or family that would like to lose some weight send them my way and we will get them into the group. Have a great day everybody, I will keep you updated on my success.

I hope that everybody is having a good year so far. Are you gearing up for summer? It has been about a month and a half since I have updated everybody on my progress; the demands of school have been unreal. I want everybody to know that I am still on track and losing weight. The workouts and Visalus continue to help me stay focused. I have finished my first 90 day challenge with success, I am down about 50 lbs. I have a bunch more weight that I want to lose but with time and persistence I will succeed. Sta

Wow! I started a new workout routine last night and all I can say about it is WOW! I have been doing the Insanity program but last night I tried the UFC Trainer for Xbox and I must say that it is very intense. After logging my first workout on the program I am so sore. The personal trainers that are working with you on screen help to give you motivation to push harder in order to achieve your goals. There was something about having a voice, even though it wasn't a real person, telling you to try harder. I felt motivated and pushed myself to do things that I didn't think I was able to do. It almost reminded me of being in basic training again. I am about half way to my project 10 weight loss goal, I should be there by next week. I hope everybody is having a great day; keep your eye

I am a few days late submitting my Project 10 video but as they say, better late than never. I have been reluctant to post a video because I am pretty secretive about my weight. I finally gave in because I feel that if I am accountable then I am more likely to succeed in attaining my goal. When I started this journey at the beginning of the year I was 40 pounds heavier than I am now. I have already met my 90 goal for weight loss but I want to get the most out of my first 90 days as possible. The last few weeks have proven very challenging but I am finding ways to overcome the roadblocks that I am facing. The link to my video is here.

The weight loss program that I am utilizing is having an amazing contest for those that are serious about losing weight. Visalus has a program called Project 10; each week members can submit an entry for a chance to win $1000. Every week Visalus will be selecting 10 winners for the Project 10 challenge.  All that you have to do is lose 10 pounds for the week to be able to enter. I am going to be starting my entry on Monday. I would love to help others be able to enter for their chance at the $1000 and create a team that is determined to shed those unwanted pounds. Contact me to get started and join the team.

I hope everybody has been having a good month. I am sorry that I have not posted updates here as often as I should be updating everybody. Between work, school, and family, I have been a very busy guy. I have had a difficult time fitting everything into my schedule.

As for my 90 day challenge, I have been trying to stay on top of it. The workouts have slacked off for the past week or so. I have been doing my shakes twice a day still but I have been snacking a little more than I should be. With everything that has been going on I have still managed to lose 10 pounds for the month. I would like to see more but I need to get back into the swing of it 100%.

I have learned a very valuable lesson this month, stay the course. Life always seems to get in the way of things that we set out to do. It is either that or we are just really good at making excuses as to why we should not continue on a journey. As humans, we are surely creatures of habit so maybe we do tend to make excuses more often than we should. It is really important that we knock down those excuses and continue on our paths. Nobody has ever made a great achievement by staying stagnant. U

It is long overdue for a new post! The last couple of weeks I have been sick with the flu so I have not been too ambitious in posting new information. I have managed to keep the scale heading in the right direction however, I am down over 35 pounds at this point. The exercise hasn't been real regular with my illness but my diet has not suffered.

This is a good time to discuss the point of exercise and illness. Often times we are faced with the question of whether or not to exercise while you are ill. Many people will tell you that you have to keep pushing forward with your exercise even when an illness is present. I do not believe this for several reasons. When your body has some type of illness present, the body needs rest to be able to heal properly. If you continue to exercise, you keep placing stress on the body which will hinder the healing. This can lead to long, extended illnesses. The safest way to ensure you are feeling better sooner is to take some time off, let your immune system fight off the bad bugs and get better so you can resume the routine that you have started. A few days off is far better than pushing through and winding up on an extended bed rest period.

Progress has slowed down a bit. The scale isn't moving much, maybe a half of a pound down. This will serve as a good test however; gotta keep pushing on and work through this until the weight starts coming off again. Hitting points like this are normal in the battle of weight loss it is how we handle them that makes the difference between success and failure. If we allow ourselves to be discouraged and give up, we will fail. Those that keep pushing hard will be successful. Don't give up on yourself!

It sure is easy to allow life to get in the way of your weight loss efforts. Between school, kids, work, and life in general, it has been a challenge to ensure that all of the commitments are given 100% effort. I believe that there is a mindset that you have to get yourself into in order to make everything happen. Setting goals, both short-term and long-term are the key to success. One of my short-term goals is to lose 40 pounds on my first 90 day challenge. I am excited to say that I am more than half way there and I have not even completed my first 30 days. I am super excited and I can't wait to see where Visalus takes me. I am so ready to finally be healthy and be able to walk into a regular store to buy clothes. I am sending out a challenge for anybody that wants to get healthy to join me; le
